Hello friends!

Wow, June absolutely flew by, but one of the highlights for me was photographing Lakin and Jasmyne’s engagement portraits at sunrise in Sedona! We originally planned this session for April, but due to ice and snow, we decided to postpone—and I’m so glad we did! The timing turned out to be perfect, allowing us to capture the stunning beauty of Sedona’s landscape.

We started our adventure by hiking up Cathedral Rock before dawn, ensuring we reached the top just as the sun began to rise. The hike was challenging, but the reward was worth it. The lighting at the summit was simply breathtaking, highlighting the love and connection between Lakin and Jasmyne in the most picturesque way.

After a quick change of clothes, Lakin and Jasmyne transformed into real-life models on top of the mountain. Their chemistry was undeniable, and I couldn’t think of a better way to encapsulate the love they share. I can’t wait to photograph their destination wedding in Mexico later this year!

I am beyond excited to continue documenting Lakin and Jasmyne’s love story at their destination wedding in Mexico. Stay tuned for more beautiful moments and stunning photographs from their special day!

Engagement Photography in Sedona: Quick Tips and Highlights!

  1. Timing is Everything: Sunrise offers the best lighting, providing a soft and romantic glow that enhances the natural beauty of Sedona’s red rocks.
  2. Be Prepared for the Hike: Cathedral Rock is a popular spot for engagement portraits, but the hike can be challenging. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water.
  3. Outfit Changes: A quick outfit change can add variety to your photos. Lakin and Jasmyne’s wardrobe switch was seamless and added a fresh look to their portraits.
  4. Outfit Colors: Because there are so many bold colors in Sedona’s backdrop, aim to pack outfits with more neutral tones. This will make it so that the red rock and deep greens don’t contrast too much with you two, and the focus can fully be on the connection you share.
  5. Embrace the Moment: The natural beauty of Sedona creates a stunning backdrop, but it’s the genuine moments of love and connection that make the photos truly special.
